EnerSys Introduces Outdoor EV Charger
The outdoor charger is a UL-certified, weather-resistant solution for farm equipment and agricultural fleets.
EnerSys has introduced its UL1012‑certified NexSys+ Outdoor charger, specifically designed to serve electric-powered agricultural equipment and farm fleets operating outdoors. Built into a rugged NEMA 3R/IP54 enclosure, the charger withstands weather extremes commonly faced across farms, ranches and rural material handling applications.
The charger features automatic temperature control, manual and automatic charging start/stop modes and intuitive controls via a 4.3-inch color panel. With up to 94% efficiency, it supports efficient battery maintenance for electric tractors, forklifts and sprayers.
According to Alex Capellini, director of product management, this outdoor charger expands charging options for fleets operating in open-air environments, ensuring dependable performance and improved uptime.
This release closely follows the company's UL2580 Rev3 lithium-ion battery approval, reflecting EnerSys’ prioritization of safety and innovation. Christina Warn, EnerSys’ global director of marketing for motive power, noted that the new charger exemplifies the company’s core mission to safeguard its customers.
